The 2010 Portland Music Awards are completely voted on by the public, via this website - with a few exceptions.

  • 'Outstanding Achievement in Talent Buying' nominees were selected exclusively by a panel of 132 industry insiders.
  • 'Outstanding Achievement in Jazz' nominees were selected exclusively by the members of the Jazz Society of Oregon.
  • 'Outstanding Achievement in Blues' nominees were selected exclusively by the members of the Cascade Blues Association.
  • 'Outstanding Achievement in Classical Music' nominees were selected exclusively by the listeners of All Classical Radio, 89.9 fm.

The site was built by Todd Meisler of ZD Design, LLC (www.zddesign.net). Meisler built a program that automatically tabulates votes as they are submitted, deleting all votes that are made multiple times from the same IP address (one vote per computer).

Neither Meisler nor ZD Designs has any other affiliations with the Portland Music Awards, the Portland Arts Foundation, Music Spectator Magazine, or Craig Marquardo.

Nominations take place between October 1st and November 15th.

The final nominees are announced on November 16th, and a final round of voting begins, continuing through December 31st.

The results of the final voting are known to no more than three individuals involved with the show, awards engraving, etc. No one, including the winners, know the results of the voting until the winner is read on stage at the live show.
